New Website Launched Today

Sundays Well RFC has a shiny new website!

We’ve just launched a new and improved website for our club!

The new site will include lots of exciting new features, including:

  • Fixtures
  • Results
  • Match day reports
  • Team and Player stats
  • Player profiles.
  • Venue information
  • News and Updates

This will hopefully, make the site a much more useful and used resource for all club members and players.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

At present, the load of updating the site falls upon a couple of members.

If we want this site to work, we need more club members to come forward and contribute.

If anyone can spare a few minutes a week, please get in touch with Liam Maher.

A message from Nicky Comyn, President of the IRFU to Sunday’s Well RFC

It is my special privilege as President of the Irish Rugby Football Union to extend my best wishes to all my fellow members at Sunday’s Well RFC for the 2019-’20 season and hope it is a successful one.

I am delighted to represent Sunday’s Well as its first IRFU President since the inception of this great club in 1906 and I take the view that my Presidency is a shared honour with you all. I want to thank the ”Well” for all their help to me throughout my years with them and wish the club every success on the field this season with special mention of the International Mixed Ability rugby tournament the ”Well” and its Rebels are holding in Cork in June 2020.

In wishing all teams and supporters every enjoyment and success throughout the season I offer special good wishes to our President Dave Sweeney.

The start of this season heralds the staging of the Rugby World Cup in Japan and I know you join with me in wishing every success to coach, Joe Schmidt, and his management team, together with the Ireland playing squad.
This Rugby World Cup year creates a very busy season, taking account of Ireland’s women 15s team; the under 20s; men’s and women’s sectors; the fortunes of our provincial clubs in the Guinness Pro14 and Heineken Champions Cup and also the myriad club, women’s, third level and schools competitions through the grass roots landscapes.
While by its nature the professional game takes precedence on the International stage, the welfare of the domestic amateur game is of paramount importance to me and to the IRFU.
Having been chairman of the AIL and Third Level, I am acutely aware of the position of clubs and I take this opportunity to acknowledge the committed and critical role being played by our huge number of volunteers, who make it all happen.
I greatly welcome the IRFU’s signing of a five year partnership with Energia, which sees the electricity and gas supply company become the official energy partner to Irish rugby and also title sponsor of both the men’s and women’s All Ireland League competitions.
This year is the 30th anniversary of the AIL and the support being demonstrated by Energia is timely. It will hopefully give a lift to all clubs in the AIL, both men and women.
I appreciate the struggles of some clubs at all levels and hope this season 2019-20 will be a special one.  I wish your club, its members, volunteers, players and supporters every success and enjoyment for the rugby year.

Nicky Comyn – President IRFU.

A Feast of Rugby

A feast of Rugby: senior XV v Dungannon

Sat 27th Oct brings “A Feast of Rugby” to Musgrave Park.

First up our U18s play Mallow RFC while Sunday’s Well Rebels entertain Bumbles Rugby with the main event being the clash of our Senior XV with Dungannon Rugby Football Club on the main pitch at 2.30pm…..both teams are tied in 3rd place in 2B of the AIL so expect a classic.

If that wasn’t enough President Jackie will be hosting a lunch before the Dungannon match and if you have any energy left we’ll be having a live Jazz band in the clubhouse after. The lunch is selling quick so contact Jackie to avoid disappointment.

So mark the date in your diary and spread the word….
Away the Well!
