Sadly, for the second time in a week, Sunday’s Well RFC has lost one of its former greats following the death of Tom Jackson last Thursday.
Tom was a member of the team that won the Munster senior Cup in 1953 and kicked a penalty in a 6-3 defeat of Garryowen. In fact Tom kicked a penalty during the game and Joe Kelleher scored a try. Tom also won Senior League and Charity Cup medals during his playing career.
Tom was the fourth member of the Jackson family to play with Well, following his brothers, Frank, Denis and Jim.
Tom is survived by his wife Ann, daughters Kerry and Olga, son-in law Vince and grandchildren Charlie and Hannah.
May he rest in peace.
